HOOOLI!!!!!

People say its about colors!!!yeah true !!!. There is something else too about this festival that makes you nostalgic!! But have you ever wondered what is that makes you nostalgic, I wondered and see what I found..

Floating images of water balloons, gulal, khopare ki chakki, green grapes, gaathiye ,numkin.. and aah !!lots of water!! and the source 'The Hand Pump'!! then images of people on bikes getting splashed with colored water. Some of them taking it heartily!! ( the people with true spirit of holi), some of them trying to escape from it( clever buggers!!), some shouting warnings and trying to scare before getting splashed!!( "ek- baar- bolonga- samjh-ja- nahin-tho" types) and some getting down from there scooter and running after us!!!( Scary lot! these kinda guys) .
Then images of me sitting behind a scooter going from one house to another meeting all the familiar faces or to be more accurate should I say seen-once-or-twice-or-thrice-in-a-year type of faces.

This I would say is a walk through one of the passages, who's walls are adorned with images. Images in which people can move ( Images like those of the wizarding community of harry potter with the exception being they cant talk to you). There are innumerable passages in a labyrinth called Geist!!Mente!! Many of the passages in it are occupied and more than Many are still unoccupied, some of them are visited quite regularly and some are busy shifting their location trying to play hide and seek with the visitor or should I say visitor is playing hide and seek with them , and a few long-lost passages.

Speaking about Passages it reminds me of the one which comes after a few long-lost passages , from the one we just visited.

Images of a cluster of 2 wheelers making its way through traffic like water passing through rocks flowing smoothly around the obstacles making its own way, of a gang sitting on pal ( the famous FS, Fateh Sagar ) having gala time, of faces pink , black, blue, silver laughing aloud. While walking through this passage I can sense a tinge of anxiety and tension, mixed with lets-get-done-with-it kind of a feeling.

The specialty of these passages is they have special effects like the ones they have in scary rides at theme parks. These special effects can induce fear, tension, anxiety, happiness, worries etc. The only thing to note here is in the case of scary ride the effect wanes of as soon as you come out of the ride but in case of "passages" your whole life is spent wandering among them and the effect is all what you have felt, you are feeling and you are going to feel in the times to come .

Now walking straight we move in the next passage. Images of a small tank at the center of the Quadrangle , of line of boys carrying buckets of water between bathroom at one corner of the Quadrangle and tank, like ants moving back and forth always moving in close ranks although path keeps on changing.Images of tearing of shirts ,pants ,shorts, of a room filled with smoke ( smiles everywhere!!!),bikes, sea, volleyball. I can sense air running through my hair.

Next comes a passage playing hide and seek but I can sense some of the special effects jealousy, anger, sheer helplessness. Now as this passages seems to be playing hide and seek so lets leave it alone and let me give rest to myself.

Moving ahead to the passage which was occupied recently. Images of me and one of my friends walking, of me talking on cellphone, of sitting somewhere in the god forsaken place, of traveling in auto, of waiting for some of the friends, of books, of a girl with big earings and pretty smile and a very thin, bald boy, of smoke, of more friends, crashing.

But to my surprise in last couple of passages there is always one image which is common, of my dad saying something like " kitna time lagta hai kissi ko call karke holi wish karne mein, aalas chodo and kabhi call kar diya karo.. sabko accha lagega.." now to that I have an answer.. It takes exactly 1 hour and 45 mins to call most of the people in my cell phone directory. But still few were left. Maybe next year I'll be able to call everybody in my cell phone directory.
