He just enjoyed/felt Diwali from his terrace.

Diwali in one moment :

Is a pleasure trip/a delight for your senses.
Innumerable sounds: with all permutations of Decibels ( 71 -111+) and Frequencies ( I guess 20 -20000 ) to enjoy in every possible direction. Ears are luckier in this respect they can enjoy, all kinds of sound, in every direction.

Play of Lights : All colors Golden,Pink,Blue,Green,Violet,Red,
The ephemeral play of lights,of all colors.Its eyes misfortune that they cant enjoy pleasure of light in every possible direction at very moment.

The smell of burnt gunpowder: Its of the same league as the smell of petrol, of spirit in chemistry lab,of sensuous ladies perfume you love it but can't stand it for long though you wanna keep smelling it. Contradictory but true.
